China PMIs rise in September, lifting composite activity above 50
China’s private-sector manufacturing PMI rose to 52.1 in September from 51.5 in August, while the official manufacturing PMI returned to expansion at 50.1.
Deutsche Bank highlighted that China’s latest PMI releases pointed to a broad-based pickup in both manufacturing and services activity in September, according to FXStreet’s recap of the bank’s analysis.
The private-sector RatingDog Manufacturing PMI increased to 52.1 from 51.5 in August, exceeding expectations of 51.7 and reaching its strongest reading since April.
China’s official manufacturing PMI climbed to 50.1 in September from 49.8 in August, returning to expansionary territory after two months of contraction.
The official non-manufacturing PMI rose to 50.2 from 49.0, and the composite PMI increased to 50.7 from 49.5, FXStreet said, reflecting an overall more supportive backdrop for growth.
