China September PMIs lift but AUD/USD slides after data

RatingDog said China’s manufacturing PMI rose to 52.1 in September, while the services PMI increased to 51.6, yet AUD/USD was down 0.4% to 0.6960 at press time.

China’s September manufacturing and services PMIs rose, according to data from RatingDog cited by FXStreet on Wednesday. The manufacturing PMI climbed to 52.1 from 51.5 in August, while the services PMI edged up to 51.6 from 51.4.

The market had expected a 51.6 manufacturing print, and a lower outcome on services based on the 51.1 forecast referenced in the release.

Following the PMI data, the China-proxy Australian Dollar remained under pressure. At press time, FXStreet reported AUD/USD was down 0.4% on the day to trade at 0.6960.
