Average used vehicle prices can exceed common affordability measures
MarketWatch reports that at current vehicle prices and interest rates, even a typical used car can run above some widely used affordability thresholds.
The outlet says the affordability gap is driven by the combination of higher purchase prices and higher financing costs, which can make monthly payments and related measures harder for many Americans to meet.
