V2 Retail shares drop after Q2 FY27 business update

The company posted 0.5% same-store sales growth in Q2 FY27, down from 7.5% in the prior quarter.

V2 Retail shares fell more than 19% on October 5 after the value-fashion retailer released its Q2 FY27 business update on October 2, according to LiveMint Markets.

During the quarter, the company reported a 28.4% year-on-year increase in standalone revenue to ₹905 crore, but same-store sales growth slowed to 0.5% year-on-year from 7.5% in the previous quarter.

Monthly sales per square foot were ₹700 in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹886 in Q1 FY27, with the company noting the quarter did not include the Navratri and Durga Puja festive period.

V2 Retail said it has 427 stores, with 106 opened during the first half of FY27, reflecting its ramp-up cycle, and it added 49 new stores while closing three in Q2 FY27.
