Arini Capital lands $1.5bn for its credit strategy after flagship fund slide
More than $400m of the new capital was placed at the start of October, with the rest due to be deployed by February, according to Bloomberg.
Arini Capital Management has raised $1.5bn for its credit strategy despite sharp losses at the firm’s main hedge fund, according to a report cited by Bloomberg.
Bloomberg, citing a person familiar with the fundraising, said more than $400m of the new money was allocated at the beginning of October, with the remainder expected to be deployed by February. The credit strategy has been closed to new investors since 2024.
The strategy now manages about $7.6bn and uses concentrated positions, a structure that can lead to significant performance swings. The main hedge fund fell an estimated 5.6% in September and is down 13.5% for the year, versus an average gain of 3.9% through August among credit hedge funds tracked by Bloomberg.
Arini has expanded quickly since launching in 2022, starting with about $1bn, and it now manages about $21.7bn across its credit-trading operations.
