North Sea Wood Group offshore workers start strike over pay cuts
Unite and RMT said the walkouts target multiple Harbour Energy-linked platforms and total six days of action in October and November.
Offshore workers on North Sea platforms have begun strike action in a dispute with Wood Group over pay and working conditions, according to Unite and RMT.
The unions said workers faced the threat of fire-and-rehire notices and pay cuts, and the strikes are expected to affect installations run by Harbour Energy, including the Britannia, Jasmine, Judy, Lomond and North Everest platforms.
Wood Group said it had been notified of the action and that staff and operational safety remain its top priority, while production, instrument and mechanical technicians are among those set to walk out.
The unions said the walkouts will total six days in October and November, starting with a two-day stoppage that began at midnight, and RMT instructed members not to work overtime from 8 October until further notice.
