Asos says hackers obtained detailed user profiles in data breach

The retailer said names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, customer numbers, and customers' website searches were accessed, but no bank details or passwords.

Asos told customers that hackers obtained detailed profiles of potentially millions of its users in this week's breach, following an update prompted by BBC News, according to the BBC.

The exposed data includes names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and customer numbers, as well as the searches customers made on the Asos website, the report said.

The BBC reported that Asos warned this could enable more targeted phishing and impersonation scams, and urged customers to stay cautious of unexpected messages or calls claiming to be from the company.

In its email to customers, Asos confirmed that data profiles were taken but said no bank details or passwords were accessed, the BBC said.
