AI-heavy earnings keep driving the stock market’s winners
Salesforce, CrowdStrike, and Okta dominate the earnings chatter as retailers and semis also line up.
Earnings headlines keep tilting toward AI winners. CNBC Markets says Salesforce stock jumps 12% on AI growth and an Anthropic investment gain, Okta pops 20% after topping estimates as AI threat spikes demand for identity security, and CrowdStrike jumps 11% on a record second quarter tied to AI cyber demand. CNBC Earnings also says CrowdStrike’s quarter shows AI is a cybersecurity tailwind, not a threat.
The marketwide movers echo that tone in some corners of the tape. SEDG rises 10.7%, SMTC gains 10.4%, and TTMI adds 8.4%, while NVDA remains one of the most active names and closes down 1.6%.
Today’s earnings calendar is busy. DG, BBY, BILI, HRL, and CSIQ report before the open, while GAP, ULTA, MRVL, WDAY, ADSK, AFRM, ESTC, RBRK, and S are slated for later in the day.
The setup shows a market that still rewards beats tied to AI, security, and spending resilience, while punishing misses or softer outlooks. CNBC Earnings also flags Dick’s Sporting Goods down 30% after missing expectations and citing a challenging footwear market, which keeps the retail read on alert.
