Nvidia shares jump after earnings beat and guides $108B in revenue
Data center revenue came in at $89.0B, and Nvidia guided gross margin to 74% for the next quarter.
Nvidia shares rose about 4% in after-hours trading after the company reported fiscal second-quarter results that topped Wall Street estimates and issued guidance for the next quarter, CoinDesk reported.
For the quarter, Nvidia posted total revenue of $96.2 billion versus the $92.27 billion consensus forecast, with data center revenue at $89.0 billion compared with $85.4 billion expected. Earnings per share were $2.22 versus $2.09 expected.
Looking ahead, Nvidia guided third-quarter revenue to $108 billion, above Street forecasts of $103.9 billion. The company also guided gross margin to 74% for the next quarter, down from 75% in the second quarter, with analyst commentary pointing to potential margin pressure from higher costs and supply and pricing dynamics.
CoinDesk also cited Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang saying AI has reached an inflection point, with demand accelerating, as investors weighed how much growth can translate into margins and cash flow.
