ADNOC Logistics orders four LNG carriers for about $900 million
The order, placed at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, is expected to be delivered in 2029 and adds four more ships to ADNOC L&S’ broader LNG newbuild plan.
ADNOC Logistics and Services has placed a newbuilding order valued at about $900 million for four next-generation LNG carriers, aiming to expand its fleet to support higher global LNG demand, OilPrice reports. The vessels are expected to be constructed at Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai, China, with deliveries scheduled for 2029. ADNOC L&S said the move brings its total LNG newbuild program to 18 vessels.
The company said it has already taken delivery of six 175,000-cubic-meter LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard, valued at $1.2 billion, and that five of those ships are deployed on contracts of up to 15 years with ADNOC Gas. For the newly ordered carriers, ADNOC L&S expects deployment on long-term charters, which it said should improve revenue visibility and help support stable energy flows to global markets. OilPrice also noted ADNOC L&S has eight more LNG carriers under construction with a total investment of $2.5 billion, scheduled for delivery from 2028 and contracted on 20-year time charters to ADNOC Gas.
