AI stock weakness sparks buying momentum in nontech sectors
A market strategist at Fairlead Strategies said investors are showing strong buying momentum in healthcare, industrials, biotech, insurance, and utilities.
MarketWatch highlights commentary from Katie Stockton of Fairlead Strategies, who said that the slump in AI related stocks could create a rotation opportunity for investors outside the technology complex.
Stockton pointed to strong buying momentum she is seeing in several nontech areas, including healthcare, industrials, and biotech.
The strategist also cited insurance and utilities as sectors where demand is picking up as AI stocks underperform.
While AI stocks have been slumping, Stockton’s view suggests the weakness is coinciding with broader interest across more defensive and economically exposed nontech groups.
