Ledger researchers disclose a Tangem card laser attack

The disclosed method targets a Tangem card firmware check used during password recovery.

Ledger researchers have disclosed a vulnerability they say can be used to reset passwords on Tangem cards using a laser-based attack, according to The Block.

The researchers described the flaw as a way to bypass a recovery-state check in Tangem card firmware, enabling password changes.

Tangem, in response, said the risk to everyday users is virtually non existent.

The disclosure highlights security concerns in hardware wallet-like card infrastructure while the vendor disputes the day to day impact.
