Truck accident topples prefabricated housing parts on Hong Kong bypass
Hong Kong police said no deaths or injuries were reported, while the Transport Department kept multiple lanes closed and traffic ran on a single lane after the crash.
A goods truck lost control on Hong Kong’s Central Kowloon Bypass on Friday morning, forcing two prefabricated housing components off the vehicle and onto the road, according to SCMP Economy.
Police said they received the accident report at 9:44am, and reported no deaths or injuries. A video circulating online appeared to show the truck blocking two lanes, with debris scattered and bypass wall damage visible.
The Transport Department said a few lanes of the Central Kowloon Bypass, Yau Ma Tei Section, remained closed to all vehicles after the incident. Traffic was congested, with only one lane available to motorists.
SCMP Economy noted the Yau Ma Tei section of the Central Kowloon Bypass opened last December, cutting peak-hour travel time between West and East Kowloon from 30 minutes to about five.
