TikTok Shop sales nearly double to $64.3B in 2025

The U.S. generated $15.1 billion of TikTok Shop merchandise in 2025, with most sales tied to short, face-to-camera product videos.

TikTok Shop nearly doubled its global merchandise sales in 2025, reaching $64.3 billion, according to Decrypt. The report says sellers can open a store with zero followers, lowering the barrier to entry for using the platform’s commerce features.

The outlet also said the U.S. contributed $15.1 billion of the total in 2025. It attributed much of the growth to short, inexpensive videos that show someone holding a product and explaining why it is needed.

Decrypt described a workflow for making product ads without a camera or studio, using AI tools such as GPT Image 2, ChatGPT, and Google Flow’s Gemini Omni, with CapCut used to trim and add subtitles. It added that YouTube’s Shopping affiliate program is available starting at 500 subscribers.

In its examples, the piece referenced promoting clothing and accessories, noting that cropping a clean product-only image can improve how faithful AI-generated results look, and it pointed to using a crypto wallet product image for a YouTube format example.
