AmeriCraft Homes launches new homebuilding venture with resort amenities
The builder is starting in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina with plans to expand across other Sun Belt states.
Veteran real estate developer Art Falcone has launched a new homebuilding venture, AmeriCraft Homes, using a hospitality-driven, resort-amenity model aimed at attainable luxury buyers, HousingWire reports.
Falcone said the timing of the launch reflects a contrarian approach during a down cycle, and he founded AmeriCraft Homes as Encore Capital Management, which he co-founded, began winding down its homebuilding pipeline. Rather than lay off employees, he moved seasoned staff into the new company and spent the past year preparing for the launch.
AmeriCraft Homes initially began operations in Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with plans to expand to other Sun Belt states. HousingWire says some communities will feature condominiums, while others will focus on single-family homes.
Falcone is known for major hospitality and mixed-use developments, including Miami WorldCenter, the Margaritaville Resort Orlando, and Encore Resort at Reunion in Orlando. HousingWire also notes he previously sold a homebuilding venture and its affiliated land company for $1.6 billion in 2005.
