Survey finds Gen Z renters more likely to see success in investing
The survey by Entrata says 37% of Gen Z renters cite investing as a success milestone, ahead of homeownership at 25%, as mortgage rates have risen above 7%.
Young renters are increasingly tying success to financial freedom rather than homeownership, according to a survey of renters by Entrata, a property-management technology company.
MarketWatch reports that the survey found investments were the top milestone linked to feeling successful among Gen Z renters at 37%, surpassing homeownership at 25%.
The outlet also notes that Gen Z renters were the only age group more likely to feel successful through investing than through purchasing a home.
The survey context includes high home prices and mortgage rates that have crossed 7%, which Entrata said makes homeownership unaffordable for many.
