Dream Finders appoints Rick Beckwitt as board co-chair
The homebuilder named former Lennar co-CEO Rick Beckwitt to strengthen governance as it grows amid tight resale inventory and higher mortgage rates.
Dream Finders Homes has appointed Rick Beckwitt as co-chairman of its board of directors, HousingWire reports. The company did not disclose the terms of the appointment or the effective date.
HousingWire says the move highlights Dream Finders’ effort to institutionalize its growth strategy. The appointment arrives as the homebuilder operates in a market shaped by tight existing-home inventory and elevated mortgage rates.
Beckwitt previously served as co-CEO and co-president of Lennar, retiring from the company in 2023, HousingWire reports. Before that, he held leadership roles at other major homebuilders including D.R. Horton and earlier worked in corporate finance and M&A at Lehman Brothers.
HousingWire adds that Dream Finders has made multiple recent public attempts to acquire Beazer Homes. The outlet says Beckwitt’s experience leading mergers and acquisitions may have been a factor in his selection for the board role.
