ECB selects 36 payment providers for yearlong digital euro pilot
The ECB plans to start the beta digital euro pilot in late 2027 and run it for one year.
The Block reports that the European Central Bank has selected 36 payment providers to participate in a yearlong pilot for a beta digital euro.
The pilot is expected to begin in late 2027, with the ECB using the period to test the digital euro arrangement with the chosen providers.
