Warren Buffett speeds up Berkshire donations to four family foundations
Buffett’s charitable transfers have reached nearly $6 billion to four family foundations, as he looks to give away Berkshire wealth by 2034.
Warren Buffett is increasing the pace of his charitable giving, transferring Berkshire Hathaway shares to four family foundations at a faster rate than before, CNBC Markets reports.
The donations now total almost $6 billion and are being delivered to the foundations set to receive the shares as part of Buffett’s plan to reduce his Berkshire stake over time.
CNBC Markets said the acceleration is intended to help Buffett reach his goal of giving away Berkshire wealth by 2034.
The transfers reflect an ongoing strategy to move more Berkshire Hathaway shares to charity through the foundations.
