Aztec Hotel on San Antonio River Walk nears opening in late August
The 77-room boutique hotel redevelopment at the former Aztec Theatre site is more than 90% complete and will include a river-level speakeasy and rooftop terrace.
ConnectCRE reports that the Aztec Hotel, being developed at the site of the Aztec Theatre building on San Antonio’s River Walk, is expected to open near the end of August, after a decade-long development process.
The redevelopment has already transformed multiple floors into a new boutique hotel and is now more than 90% complete, according to ConnectCRE, after clearing historic preservation hurdles as well as challenges including the pandemic and broader economic instability.
ConnectCRE says the owners are led by Sam Panchevre and have partnered with Shreem Capital, which will co-own and manage the 77-room hotel under the Marriott flag.
The outlet adds that a river-level speakeasy and rooftop terrace, with a restaurant and bar, are expected to open around the same time as the hotel.
