UK economy grows 0.1% in May after April contraction
The Office for National Statistics cited services-led expansion, while production and construction fell, keeping momentum modest.
The UK economy returned to growth in May, expanding 0.1% month on month, according to data from the Office for National Statistics.
BBC Business reports the increase was driven by the service sector, but it was offset by declines in production and construction.
The figures also come after the economy contracted slightly in April, when the start of the US Israel war with Iran was said to be affecting businesses.
For the three months to May, the ONS said the economy grew 0.7% compared with the previous three month period.
