Anta Brand names interim CEO after Xu Yang steps down
Anta Brand said Xu Yang left for personal family reasons, and it named Lai Shixian, co-CEO of Anta Sports Products Limited, as interim CEO.
Anta Brand said its chief executive officer Xu Yang has stepped down from the role, citing personal family reasons, and the company has accepted his request to leave. Housing the transition, the brand said it is exploring other suitable opportunities for Xu within the group.
Anta Brand named Lai Shixian, co-CEO of Anta Sports Products Limited, as interim CEO. The company said Lai will assume overall responsibilities for the brand's operations in management.
The leadership change follows the brand's most recent 2025 annual results released in March, which showed revenue at 34.75 billion yuan, up 3.7% year on year, and operating profit up 2.5% to 7.21 billion yuan. Anta Brand also pointed to high-single digit positive growth in first-quarter 2026 retail sales versus the same period of 2025.
The news arrives during a period of expansion for Anta Brand, including the opening of its first U.S. flagship store in Beverly Hills, California, and its broader retail footprint of more than 12,000 stores across China. The outlet also notes Anta Brand's parent company previously agreed to buy a 29.06% stake in Puma SE in a deal valued at 1.5 billion euros, expected to close by the end of 2026.
