Apple overtakes Nvidia as world’s most valuable company
Apple’s market valuation rose to about $4.88 trillion, narrowly ahead of Nvidia’s roughly $4.86 trillion, underscoring a shifting investor focus on AI-related winners.
Apple has regained the top spot as the world’s most valuable company, edging ahead of Nvidia as investors reassessed where artificial intelligence value will accrue. CNBC Markets and CNBC World said the change comes as Wall Street moves its focus toward companies tied to the AI infrastructure buildout.
According to the Guardian Business, Apple’s market value was about $4.88 trillion, while Nvidia was around $4.86 trillion after shares held steady for Apple. The outlet also framed the swap as a reshuffling among tech heavyweights.
CNBC Markets and CNBC World noted that Nvidia shares have underperformed in 2026, which helped create room for Apple to retake the lead on valuation. The two reports pointed to an evolving view of which firms are best positioned to benefit from the next phase of AI development.
