AUDUSD and NZDUSD slide as risk sentiment turns lower
Risk-off trading pushed both pairs lower versus the U.S. dollar, trimming some of this week’s gains even as they remain higher on the week.
Forexlive reports that the AUDUSD and NZDUSD moved lower as markets shifted into a risk-off tone, which typically pressures both risk-sensitive pairs against the U.S. dollar during equity selloffs.
The weaker sentiment showed up in U.S. futures, with S&P 500 futures down nearly 100 points, Dow futures lower by around 600 points, and Nasdaq futures also off by roughly 600 points ahead of the open.
According to Forexlive, the slide trimmed some gains from earlier in the week, though both currency pairs still stand higher on the week, with NZDUSD outperforming AUDUSD.
Forexlive also pointed to a technical read of each pair, outlining the current bias and key support and resistance levels, along with risk points and upside and downside targets tied to the day’s price action.
