Bybit launches Indonesia platform after acquiring majority stake in NOBI
The phased rollout starts with 500 cryptocurrency trading pairs, as Indonesia logged 21.07 million registered crypto users and $26.85 billion in crypto transaction value in 2025.
Cointelegraph reports Bybit has launched a locally operated Indonesia platform after acquiring a majority stake in digital asset firm PT Enkripsi Teknologi Handal, previously known as NOBI.
NOBI has been rebranded as Bybit Indonesia, and the exchange said it plans to roll out services in phases, starting with 500 cryptocurrency trading pairs.
Bybit Indonesia will be led by Lawrence Samantha as CEO and Dionisius Evan as chief operating officer, both previously senior executives at NOBI.
Cointelegraph adds that Indonesia had 21.07 million registered crypto asset users as of February 2026, and crypto transaction value totaled $26.85 billion in 2025, while the country had licensed 31 crypto-related entities as of April, including two crypto exchanges and two clearing institutions.
