Cathay Pacific pushes back Middle East flight restart amid renewed tensions
The carrier also scrapped its prior plan to resume freighter services to Riyadh from Aug. 1, without naming a new restart date.
Cathay Pacific Airways has postponed the restart of its passenger services to key Middle East destinations, citing latest developments as the Iran crisis shows signs of rekindling, according to SCMP Economy.
In a Friday statement, the Hong Kong flag carrier said its daily flights to Dubai will be delayed until Oct. 25, and its four weekly services to Riyadh will be pushed to Oct. 26.
Cathay previously indicated it would resume passenger service to Dubai and Riyadh on Sept. 1 after signs of de escalation under a preliminary peace deal between the United States and Iran, but the timetable has now been moved back.
Cathay also dropped its earlier plan to restart freighter services to Riyadh from Aug. 1, and did not specify a new date, the outlet reported.
