Galaxy Digital wins Texas Tech stadium naming rights in 15-year deal

The rebranded Galaxy Stadium is set to debut Sept. 5, when Texas Tech opens its season against Abilene Christian, and the partnership also covers official data center and digital assets roles.

Galaxy Digital has signed a 15-year naming rights agreement with Texas Tech, and the university’s football stadium will be renamed Galaxy Stadium starting with the 2026 season, Cointelegraph reports. The partnership also makes Galaxy the official data center and digital assets partner of Texas Tech Athletics. The companies plan to collaborate on student-athlete name, image and likeness opportunities, artificial intelligence initiatives, and workforce development programs, according to Friday’s announcement. Galaxy Stadium is scheduled to debut under its new name on Sept. 5, when Texas Tech opens the season against Abilene Christian. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal expands Galaxy’s West Texas footprint, where it operates the Helios data center campus in Dickens County about 60 miles east of Lubbock. That site has 1.6 gigawatts of approved capacity for artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, and the partnership comes as Texas deepens its profile in crypto investment and pro-crypto legislation.
