Import prices rise after China goods costs jump to a decade high
The monthly 0.3% gain came despite lower energy prices, with increases elsewhere outweighing the decline.
Import prices rose 0.3% for the month, a surprise gain highlighted by costs of goods from China reaching their highest level since 2008, CNBC reports.
The data showed that a drop in energy prices was more than offset by increases in other components of import costs, supporting the overall monthly rise.
