JSW Steel Q1 profit more than doubles as revenue rises
For the quarter ended June, JSW Steel reported consolidated net profit of ₹4,696 crore, driven by a 9.8% year-on-year revenue increase to ₹47,364 crore.
JSW Steel posted a sharp year-on-year improvement in Q1 FY27 results, with consolidated net profit more than doubling to ₹4,696 crore, compared with ₹2,209 crore in the same quarter of the prior financial year, according to the company’s exchange filing.
Revenue from operations rose 9.8% year-on-year to ₹47,364 crore, while total income increased to ₹48,088 crore from ₹43,497 crore. Total expenses for the quarter were ₹41,830 crore, up from ₹40,325 crore a year earlier.
On production, the steelmaker said crude steel output grew 3% year-on-year to 6.59 million tonnes during the quarter, from 6.38 million tonnes in Q1 FY26.
JSW Steel also began construction of a 2-million-tonne-per-annum steel plant in Andhra Pradesh, involving an investment of more than ₹16,350 crore, as part of its capacity expansion plans. Separately, the board approved the company’s participation in the proposed initial public offering of JSW One Platforms Ltd, with JSW Steel planning an offer for sale of up to ₹811 crore, subject to approvals and market conditions.
