Taiwan sentences BitShine exchange ringleader to 22 years in fraud case
Taiwan has sentenced the alleged ringleader of a crypto exchange-linked criminal operation associated with BitShine to 22 years, according to The Block.
The outlet reports the case centers on a reported $39 million fraud, in which the defendant allegedly led a criminal group that used the BitShine exchange as a front.
The Block also says the group operated under the guise of BitShine, which had previously been registered with Taiwan's financial regulator, the FSC.
