Aon appoints Joe Liang executive chairman for Greater China reinsurance
The role is based in Hong Kong and Liang, who has over 34 years of insurance experience, reports to Aon Asia Pacific reinsurance CEO Rupert Moore.
Aon has appointed Joe Liang Executive Chairman of Greater China for Reinsurance, effective immediately, with the role based in Hong Kong.
According to Aon, Liang reports to Rupert Moore, the Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific for Reinsurance. The firm said his leadership will focus on helping clients identify opportunities, address emerging risks, and strengthen business performance.
Aon also cited Liang’s more than 34 years of experience in the insurance industry, including senior leadership roles across underwriting, reinsurance, risk management, and actuarial functions in China and the U.S. It added that he previously held executive positions at SAIC Insurance Limited and Ping An P&C Insurance Company.
Moore said Liang brings experience across insurance, reinsurance, actuarial, and technology that will help Aon better serve clients across Greater China, while advancing the firm’s capabilities, innovation efforts, and growth in the region.
