Chime launches commission-free stock and ETF investing feature

Banking startup Chime has launched Chime Invest, a new feature that lets users buy stocks and ETFs commission-free directly in the app, according to Coverager.

Chime Invest includes an option to select an “expert-built,” diversified portfolio that is personalized to users’ goals and risk profiles, with portfolio management handled by Atomic Invest, an SEC-registered investment adviser.

The offering is described as having no account balance minimums for managed portfolios, and it includes different annual management fee levels depending on Chime membership.

For Chime Prime members, managed portfolios have no management fees, for Chime Plus members the annual fee is 0.10%, and for all other Chime members the annual management fee is 0.25%.
