Leveraged and inverse ETFs posted double-digit weekly gains
UBR returned over 28% for the week, with gains tied to a Brazil stock surge after the October 4, 2026 presidential election.
ETF Trends highlighted last week’s top performing leveraged and inverse exchange traded funds, warning that leverage can cause them to move quickly.
UBR, which provides 2x daily long exposure to the MSCI Brazil Index, led the list with over 28% weekly gains, after the Brazilian stock market surged to record highs following the first round of the country’s presidential election on October 4, 2026.
BRZU, offering 2x daily leveraged exposure to an index of large and mid-cap Brazilian companies, also delivered about 28% weekly gains, while KMLI, a 2x leveraged vehicle tied to Mercado Libre Inc. (MELI), was cited as benefiting from Brazil election results, anticipation of Q3 earnings, analyst support and valuation rebound, and strength in commerce and fintech.
Other names included PTIR, which provides 2x leveraged exposure to Palantir Technologies Inc. shares, at about 22% weekly gains, with the underlying stock jump attributed to major Wall Street upgrades, new price target increases, and continued enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, according to ETF Trends.
