Iran says it has received mediator proposals to resume negotiations

Iran’s foreign ministry also said US talks could be possible only if they are pursued on the basis of national interests.

Iran said diplomatic efforts have been active in recent days and that it has received proposals from several mediators for the resumption of negotiations, according to Forexlive.

Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Baghaei said a binary choice of negotiations or war is not useful, and added that diplomacy does not negate defense, or that defense is not incompatible with diplomacy, Forexlive wrote.

The piece also cautioned against assuming a lasting turnaround, noting that nuclear and uranium negotiations are still constrained by key red lines for both sides.

Forexlive said Iran’s approach appears aimed at buying time, and argued that exchange of missile strikes could derail talks again, with markets potentially repeating a cycle of setbacks and brief advances.
