Zilliqa asks exchanges to pause ZIL transfers after suspected cold wallet theft
Zilliqa said it is investigating an exchange-related security incident but has not disclosed the amount stolen or named the affected partner.
Zilliqa has asked crypto exchanges to temporarily pause ZIL deposits and withdrawals after it suspected an exchange partner’s cold wallet was compromised, according to Cointelegraph.
The network said it is investigating a security incident involving the partner after ZIL was taken from the cold wallet, but it did not disclose how much ZIL was stolen, identify the exchange, or provide a likely cause.
In a post on Monday, Zilliqa said it understands the community will have questions and plans to share updates once it has verified information.
At the time of Cointelegraph’s writing, ZIL was trading around $0.0025, down 7.1% over the prior 24 hours.
