Telegram plans native non-custodial Gram wallet this summer

Pavel Durov said the wallet would enable instant, fee-free crypto transfers for Telegram’s more than 1 billion monthly active users.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov said Telegram will roll out a native non-custodial Gram crypto wallet across the messaging app this summer, a move aimed at bringing self-custody transactions to the platform’s user base.

According to Cointelegraph, Durov said the wallet would let users send cryptocurrency instantly and without fees, though Telegram has not provided a firm launch date or additional technical details.

Cointelegraph added that Telegram surpassed 1 billion monthly active users in 2025, and even limited adoption could broaden access to self-custody and peer to peer crypto payments.

The announcement follows recent TON network plans to rename its token from Toncoin to Gram, Cointelegraph said, as Telegram has increasingly supported the TON ecosystem since a 2020 settlement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
