White House agrees ethics package for the CLARITY Act, lifting odds
The bill’s passage probability for 2026 rose to 42% after the White House sent ethics language to Senate Republicans, with Polymarket’s related contract up 12% on the day.
Decrypt reports that a White House ethics package for the CLARITY Act has been agreed and sent to certain Senate Republicans, though the details were not public at the time of publication.
The outlet said industry participants are hopeful the move could clear the way for updated bill text, since the ethics provision had been the main sticking point.
Decrypt noted that Senate Democrats led by Elizabeth Warren had refused to support CLARITY unless it bars the president, senior officials, and their families from profiting off crypto, and that the demand was strengthened after Trump disclosed more than $1.2 billion in cryptocurrency income.
Decrypt also reported that the ethics breakthrough could remove the objection Democrats were using to withhold the seven-plus votes needed to reach the 60-vote threshold, while Polymarket’s related contract for passage in 2026 jumped 12% to 42% from earlier levels near 75%.
