Anthropic joins UK FCA Supercharged Sandbox for Claude AI models
The FCA said it received 199 applications for the second cohort, up 51% from the first round.
Anthropic has joined the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s (FCA) Supercharged Sandbox, becoming the second cohort participant as the regulator expands a controlled testing environment for AI in financial services, Cointelegraph reports.
Under the program, participating firms will receive access to Anthropic’s Claude models, including Claude Code and Claude Cowork, to build applications that the FCA says can range from agent-led payments and fraud detection to compliance automation and AI governance.
Cointelegraph adds that the second cohort includes 21 organizations, among them Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust, and TrueLayer, while the FCA said it received 199 applications for the latest group, up 51% from the first round.
The FCA also plans a 10-week Agentic Academy with the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship to help firms develop and deploy AI agents in financial services, and it continues to run a separate AI Live Testing program for firms ready to use AI in live markets.
