Howden appoints Junichiro Ito to lead natural resources for Japan
Ito joins from GE Vernova, where he served as Commercial Country Leader for Japan Offshore Wind, and previously worked at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance on offshore wind underwriting and reinsurance.
Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Howden appointed Junichiro Ito as Head of Natural Resources for Japan, expanding leadership for its natural resources business across Asia.
Howden said Ito brings more than 20 years of experience spanning offshore wind, insurance, and risk management. He joins from GE Vernova, where he most recently led Japan Offshore Wind business activities including policy engagement, sales and commercial strategy, and contract negotiations.
The firm added that Ito previously served as a Deputy Manager at Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance, overseeing renewable energy offshore wind underwriting, reinsurance, risk consulting, and marketing.
Howden’s Managing Director, Head of Natural Resources Matthew Savitt, said the appointment is an initial step in a strategy to strengthen Howden’s natural resources capabilities in the region, combining local expertise with the broker’s global reach.
