Bitget registers with New Zealand regulator to expand services

The registration allows the exchange to provide foreign currency exchange, money transfers, and client asset custody in New Zealand.

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget said it has been registered as a financial services provider on New Zealand’s Financial Services Providers Register, a step it says will enable broader in-country offerings.

According to Bitget, the New Zealand registration supports services including foreign currency exchange, domestic and cross-border money transfers, client asset custody, and portfolio and money management.

Cointelegraph reports Bitget ranks as the world’s sixth-largest crypto exchange by daily trading volume, at $389 million, based on CoinMarketCap data.

Bitget also noted it previously received regulatory approval in June 2025 to operate as a digital asset exchange and custodial wallet provider in Georgia, and that it holds authorization from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority via affiliate Archax.
