BNY Mellon readies 24/7 Treasury settlement as tokenized assets grow

Bank of New York Mellon is preparing for round the clock settlement in US Treasuries, as the expansion of stablecoins and other tokenized assets begins to pressure traditional market infrastructure, according to a report cited by Hedgeweek.

The move signals that banks involved in securities settlement are adjusting their operating model in response to emerging digital-asset activity, Hedgeweek said, referencing the underlying Bloomberg report.
