Chip IPO premium draws scrutiny to crypto parallel market
CNBC Markets attributes the premium in part to offshore investors seeking alternatives in crypto because they were locked out of the listings.
A chip company priced at a level that made it China’s most valuable ahead of its initial public offering is drawing scrutiny toward crypto as a parallel market, according to CNBC Markets.
The outlet said the unusually large premium was driven in part by offshore investors who, unable to access the highly anticipated IPO listings, shifted to crypto.
CNBC World echoed that explanation, pointing to the same channel through which investors sought exposure when traditional routes were unavailable.
