Tesla heads into Q2 earnings after 480,126 deliveries in the quarter

Deliveries topped expectations in Q2, and the company also produced fewer vehicles than it delivered, reducing inventory buildup concerns ahead of its July 22 results.

Tesla is set to report second-quarter earnings on Wednesday, July 22, after posting 480,126 vehicle deliveries in the quarter, a figure that surpassed Wall Street expectations, according to Yahoo Finance.

The outlet also noted that Tesla delivered more vehicles than it produced during Q2, a dynamic that eased investor concerns about an inventory buildup while EV demand faces slowing signals in some markets.

Beyond the core electric vehicle business, investors are expected to focus on management's commentary on higher-margin growth initiatives, including Robotaxi, the Optimus humanoid robot, AI efforts, and energy storage.

Yahoo Finance said Tesla ended Q1 with its largest order backlog in more than two years, a sign of resilient customer demand amid tougher competition, and added that gasoline prices have improved the relative appeal of EVs.
