Ujjivan Small Finance Bank Q1 profit jumps as NII hits record
Net interest income reached ₹1,186 crore and the cost-to-income ratio fell to 62.0%, helping PAT rise 206.7% year on year.
Ujjivan Small Finance Bank reported Q1 FY27 results for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, with profitability and core lending metrics improving sharply. The bank said its highest-ever quarterly net interest income (NII) rose 38.6% year on year to ₹1,186 crore, while net interest margin (NIM) came in at 8.5%.
The bank also highlighted efficiency gains, with the cost-to-income ratio dropping to 62.0% from 67.0% a year earlier, an improvement of 497 basis points. It posted its highest-ever quarterly pre-provision operating profit (PPOP) of ₹548 crore, up 52.0% year on year.
Profit after tax surged 206.7% year on year to ₹317 crore, the company said. Return metrics strengthened as return on assets rose to 2.2% and return on equity climbed to 18.2%.
Business growth remained strong, with total deposits up 24.6% year on year to ₹48,129 crore, while gross loans increased 28.9% year on year to ₹42,903 crore. In remarks cited by LiveMint Markets, Carol Furtado, ED of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank, said the RBI kept the policy repo rate at 5.25% and that domestic indicators have shown stability despite global market uncertainties.
