Hindustan Zinc Q1 2026 profit doubles as revenue jumps 72%

The zinc, lead and silver segment drove earnings to ₹ 7,173 crore, and the company also declared an interim dividend of ₹ 11 per share.

Hindustan Zinc, Vedanta's subsidiary, reported Q1 2026 results for the quarter ended June 2026, posting consolidated net profit of ₹ 5,469 crore, up 145% from ₹ 2,234 crore a year earlier, according to LiveMint Markets. Revenue from operations rose around 72% to ₹ 13,033 crore from ₹ 7,591 crore in the year-ago period.

The company said operating margin expanded to 52% from 38% a year ago, supported by improved cost management and favourable metal prices. EBITDA nearly doubled to ₹ 8,050 crore, while EBITDA margin rose to 58.56% from 49.7% in the same quarter last year.

Hindustan Zinc noted that the Zinc, Lead and Silver segment remained the key earnings driver, with segment revenue increasing to ₹ 9,146 crore from ₹ 6,116 crore, and silver revenue rising to ₹ 3,839 crore from ₹ 1,426 crore. Segment earnings rose to ₹ 7,173 crore from ₹ 2,967 crore, while its wind energy segment revenue was ₹ 48 crore.

Despite the quarterly performance, LiveMint Markets reported that Hindustan Zinc shares were trading 0.75% lower at ₹ 527.15 after the results. The board also declared an interim dividend of ₹ 11 per equity share, with a record date of April 30, 2026, for a total payout of ₹ 4,648 crore.
