Montaka Global says Mastercard is undervalued versus its growth outlook

In its Q2 2026 investor letter, the firm pointed to Mastercard's recent stock performance, with shares closing at $531.98 on July 22, 2026, and a 52-week loss of 5.6%.

Montaka Global Investments said it sees valuation mispricing as an opportunity in Mastercard Incorporated, highlighting the payments company as one of its focused long-term holdings in its Q2 2026 investor letter, according to Yahoo Finance.

The asset manager described its approach as owning high-conviction businesses purchased when prices are attractive, aiming for long-term excess returns as it expects mispricing to eventually correct.

Montaka argued that Mastercard and Visa are advantaged businesses whose growth outlook is being undershot by current pricing, saying the market is pricing future revenue growth for the pair at about 4% per year, which it considers below what it expects.

The firm also shared recent market context for Mastercard, noting the shares closed at $531.98 on July 22, 2026, up 8.8% over one month, but down 5.6% over the past 52 weeks.
