Ripple launches Mint platform to expand institutional access to RLUSD
Ripple said RLUSD’s market cap brief rose from about $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion around the platform launch, before settling near $1.59 billion.
Ripple has launched Ripple Mint, a platform designed to give institutions expanded ways to access its US dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD). According to Cointelegraph, the offering is intended to let institutions mint, redeem, and manage RLUSD through either a web interface or direct API integrations.
Ripple described Ripple Mint as a unified workflow for both manual operations and automated integrations, aimed at supporting stablecoin use for payments, trading, and treasury activities. The platform is built for institutions with different operational needs as they adopt stablecoins, Cointelegraph reported.
RLUSD launched in December 2024 with a focus on institutional use, and later also gained traction among retail users. Cointelegraph said the stablecoin reached its all-time high market capitalization on June 1, 2026, when it surpassed $1.8 billion, citing CoinGecko.
Around the Ripple Mint launch, Cointelegraph reported RLUSD’s market cap briefly increased from about $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion, before settling near $1.59 billion. At the time of publication, RLUSD ranked as the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization.
