Samsung Wallet to add native stablecoin support
Samsung said the feature will enable fast, trusted stablecoin transfers, but it did not provide a launch date or name any issuers or partners.
Samsung says its Wallet app will add native stablecoin support, with the company calling the move its first direct commitment to the asset class. Speaking at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 22, product manager Lee Dinham said the Wallet will expand beyond cash and savings to include stablecoins for fast and trusted digital value transfers.
Samsung gave no timeline and did not specify which stablecoin issuers or markets will be supported. An on-stage mockup showed Circle's USDC interface, but Circle and Samsung have not confirmed a partnership.
The plan follows earlier signals of Samsung's involvement in stablecoin efforts, including a June episode in which Samsung appeared among more than 140 listed partners of the Open USD stablecoin consortium before denying any formal agreement. Samsung has also said its Galaxy S10 shipped with a hardware-backed blockchain wallet starting in 2019, and in October 2025 it embedded Coinbase One into Samsung Wallet for more than 75 million US Galaxy users.
The announcement also arrived alongside Samsung's Galaxy Card, its first credit card issued by Barclays on the Visa network in the US. It comes as total stablecoin supply is about $307.6 billion and USDC processed a record $1.21 trillion in adjusted transaction volume in June, according to the source.
