Ultra Clean Holdings jumps as Rewey highlights a semiconductor spending inflection
Ultra Clean Holdings closed at $101.46 on July 22, 2026, after a 127.8% return in Q2, according to Rewey Asset Management’s Q2 2026 investor letter.
Ultra Clean Holdings shares surged after Rewey Asset Management pointed to a sharp shift in the outlook for semiconductor capital spending in its Q2 2026 investor letter, according to Yahoo Finance. Rewey said the stock was its top performer in the quarter, delivering a 127.8% return in Q2 2026.
Rewey attributed the move to strong quarterly results and an inflection in semi-conductor capital spending, saying memory chips are now in short supply as artificial intelligence is expected to drive major memory demand. The firm also said it trimmed its position into strength, even as it characterized the upcycle as still early.
The Yahoo Finance piece also cited Ultra Clean Holdings’ market data, including a July 22 close of $101.46 per share and a one-month return of -17.8%. Over the past 52 weeks, the shares gained 319.1%, and the company’s market capitalization was listed at $4.55 billion, with a 52-week range of $21.28 to $144.22.
Separately, the investor letter discussed broader small and mid-cap performance and capital markets, noting its RAM Smid Composite returned 20.1% in Q2 2026 versus 18.5% for the Russell 2500 Value Total Return Index, and that IPOs raised $104 billion across 48 deals.
Rewey also discussed the Russell 2500 Value’s outperformance versus the S&P 500 and the Magnificent 7, and said it viewed that gap as evidence of rotation toward undervalued small and smid cap stocks. Yahoo Finance added that Ultra Clean Holdings is not on Rewey’s list of the 40 most popular hedge fund stocks, though 36 hedge fund portfolios held it in its database.
