US stocks trade mixed as earnings and tariffs vie for focus
The Dow rose 0.15% to 51,791.4, while the S&P 500 edged down 0.03% to 7,406.3 and the Nasdaq lost 0.12% to 25,107.4 at the open.
LiveMint Markets said US stock indexes traded mixed on Friday as investors digested fresh earnings results, with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and a new tariff announcement from the Trump administration adding to the backdrop.
At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 79.7 points, or 0.15%, to 51,791.37.
The S&P 500 fell 2.0 points, or 0.03%, to 7,406.3, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 30.3 points, or 0.12%, to 25,107.384.
